Melissa Nossal, PsyD, joined the Mainstay Life Services Board of Directors in 2026.

Melissa serves as Chief Operating Officer of Community Care Behavioral Health Organization, a nonprofit behavioral health managed care organization within UPMC Insurance Services. A licensed clinical psychologist with two decades of experience across the behavioral healthcare continuum, Dr. Nossal oversees system-wide operations supporting approximately 1.2 million Medicaid-covered lives across 41 counties in Pennsylvania. Her work focuses on system performance, network management, and long-term sustainability.

Dr. Nossal holds a Doctor of Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Regent University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Slippery Rock University. Her prior leadership roles include advancing quality and clinical outcomes in acute psychiatric settings at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital and Torrance State Hospital, as well as serving as Vice President at Pittsburgh Mercy, providing executive leadership over large-scale behavioral health operations, workforce strategy, and financial performance. She recently completed a Certificate of Specialization in Health Care Leadership through Harvard University Online and holds SAFe® 6 Agilist certification.
