Dr. Ludmila Malcoci Appointed to the EASPD Board

Keystone Human Services is pleased to share that Dr. Ludmila Malcoci, Regional Director of Central and Eastern Europe for Keystone Human Services International and Executive Director of Keystone Moldova, has been appointed to the Board for the European Association of Service Providers for Persons of Disabilities (EASPD).

For years, Ludmila has served as the co-chair of EASPD’s Inclusive Living Fora. She’s a strong advocate alongside people with disability for access to rights and life in the community.

She has served as Executive Director of Keystone Moldova for over 15 years. During that time, Keystone Moldova has focused on deinstitutionalization and the social inclusion of people with disability, working with the national, regional, and local governments to develop legal frameworks for community-based services and inclusive education.

EASPD is based on Brussels, Belgium and has 207 members representing over 20,000 organizations in 50 different countries across Europe. With a focus on human rights, the organization works for the full implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), person-centered community-based services, and fair working conditions and lifelong learning opportunities for staff working within services.

Keystone Moldova has been a long-standing member of EASPD. Their work aligns with our own mission-driven work, and we have partnered with them on projects, co-hosted side events at the UN Conference of States Parties to the CRPD, and shared expertise at conferences and webinars. In 2021, Keystone Moldova received a Policy Impact EASPD Innovation Award for our Self-Advocacy for Better Inclusion program, advancing the implementation of the CRPD through direct participation of people with disability.

KHS is proud that Ludmila is serving on the EASPD Board, contributing her expertise toward promoting human rights and equity for people with disability.
