Keystone Human Services’ President and CEO Named to Governor-Elect Josh Shapiro’s Transition Advisory Committee

Charles Hooker Headshot(Harrisburg, PA) December 6, 2022 – Keystone Human Services is pleased to announce that Charles Hooker, KHS President and CEO, has been named to Governor-Elect Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Austin Davis’ Transition Advisory Committee for Health and Human Services.

Governor-Elect Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Davis have assembled a diverse and experienced team of Pennsylvania leaders and policy experts to advise their transition on a wide array of different policy areas to help move the Commonwealth forward.

“I’m proud to have this opportunity with the new Administration to present critical issues related to people with disability,” said Charles. “I’m looking forward to working with the Transition team to address necessary systemic changes and weave inclusive practices into the basic fabric of the Commonwealth to benefit all Pennsylvanians.”

Charles’ 45-year career in human services has been marked by a focus on building inclusive communities where all people have opportunities to thrive. A strong advocate for people with disability, he has worked to develop community-based service systems and promote disability rights in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, and New Jersey, as well as Moldova and India.

His leadership extends to roles statewide with PAR (Pennsylvania Advocates and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disability), nationally with ANCOR (the American Network of Community Options and Resources), and globally with InterAction.

Charles joins a talented group of leaders and experts within human services.
